EurAstro stands for Europe and Astronomy. Transferring surplus astronomy books and educational material from well-equipped European regions to poorer places with low awareness in astronomy is a highly commendable endeavour.
As an IYA2009 organisational node, we expanded our activities overseas, with Côte d'Ivoire and Mozambique being the first beneficiaries. And we diversified the Astro Book Drive concept by sending:
- subscriptions to astronomy periodicals;
- books in other languages than English;
- new books (not only used books) and educational brochures.
Any further ideas for sharing material in the frame of the Astro Book Drive are most welcome!
